Brandix donates Rs. 2.5 million to families of Navy personnel

The Brandix CSR Centre, the Community Development arm of the Brandix Group, donated Rs. 2.5 million to the family members of naval personnel, who lost their lives in a suicide attack near the transit camp in Digampatana, Habarana recently.

The initial presentation was made to families of two late servicemen at a ceremony at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo by Feroz Omar, Director, Brandix Lanka and Trevine Jayasekera, Director Finance, Brandix Lanka, in the presence of Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Rsp usp ndc psc.

The organisation has pledged to work towards ensuring the welfare of children affected by the armed conflict. Omar said, "this is the first step in a series of initiatives towards ensuring the welfare of children affected by the conflict; we will also work with the two other services, police and any other relevant authority towards this end."

Commander Prasanna Pathiraja of the Naval Welfare Directorate said, "We appreciate this magnanimous gesture by Brandix. An action of this nature keeps the spirit of our personnel high and is reflective of taking care of our brave sailors' families by being a pillar of support in their time of need."
