Hotel Paradise Island: The health resort on Bentota river

Overlooking the scenic beauty of the Bentota river, the operational work of the Hotel Paradise Island commenced in 1995 with the sole objective of providing ayurveda treatment to foreign visitors holidaying in Sri Lanka.

The hotel, which is a chain of `Sri Budhasa Ayurveda Health Resorts' is owned and managed by a well-known hotelier Sunil Seneviratne. He is assisted by his consultant Dr. Bertie Pieris. Sunil, a former Thomian obtained wide experience in hotel management at the Hotel School in Sri Lanka and Germany. He also acquired a sound knowledge on ayurveda treatment in Swisterland.

Sunil had also undertaken the management of the `Ayurveda Walauwa' at Bentota. The medical section of the two resorts are under the overall direction of his wife Dr. Rita Albiez, a medical practioner with a good knowledge of ayurveda in Basel, Switzerland. She visits the resort periodically.

Sri Budhasa Health Resort is designed and operated for in house ayurveda guests and offer them a treasure of ancient, time-tested health rejuvenation secrets using simple and natural methods.

When a guest seeks therapies, he\she is examined by an experienced ayurveda consultant specialist who checks the condition before prescribing a course of treatment, diet and therapy. The ayurveda course of treatment is augmented with basic Yoga and Meditation to give a complete cure of the body and mind. All guests are treated to a Flower Bath (Pushpa Avagahana) on completion of the course.

Hotel Paradise Island is located 62 kms South of Colombo. It has 27 comfortably furnished and air-conditioned terraced bungalow-style rooms, a swimming pool, an ayurveda health products shop, a jewellery shop and a restaurant serving natural ayurveda health food and drinks for guests. The guests also have the facilities of boat riding, foreign currency exchange, IDD and also credit card facilities.
