Five CRC Oarsmen for Karachi

ROWING: A five member team from the Colombo Rowing Club led by Devaka Seneviratne will leave today (Sunday) to Karachi, Pakistan to compete at the Amateur Rowing Association East (ARAE) Regatta to be staged from December 20 to 23.

The Regatta is conducted by Karachi Boat Club. The CRC crew was selected on completion of the Closing Regatta concluded last Sunday on the Beira Waters. The rowers are Devaka Seneviratne, Udesh Hettiarachchi, Anushan Selvaraja, Manoharan Niroshan, Nimantha Hewagama and Bassim Hassan. Chevantha Sirimanne, will be the Manager cum Coach.

The CRC oarsmen will participate in the sculls, double sculls, pairs and four-the boat race.

At last years ARAE Regatta held at Calcutta, CRC finished runners-up to Madras Boat Club in the overall championships.
