Around 50,000 employment opportunities will be provided to Sri Lankan
workers by the Government of Libya next year on a request made by the
Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE).
Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare Minister, Keheliya
Rambukwella will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard
with his Libyan counterpart in January next year. Discussions related to
the program were held in Colombo on Thursday between Minister
Rambukwella and Libyan Ambassador in Sri Lanka Essa Ahamed Emhemed Gssa.
Sri Lankans will be offered employment in the fields of tourism,
construction and trade. Meanwhile jobs will also be available in Libyan
ports and airports.
Minister Rambukwella told the `Sunday Observer' that steps will be
taken to provide foreign jobs in a transparent manner by calling
applications through newspaper advertisement and labour officials
deployed in all districts including in the North and East. |
