Inspiring the NEXT Career Fair

Inspiring the NEXT Career Fair and Personal Development Program for
the year 2008 will be held on February 18 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the
University of Kelaniya.
It will bring together hundreds of new graduates and the best of Sri
Lanka's Corporate World. The Chief guest at the opening ceremony at 9
a.m. will be the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya Prof. M.
J. S. Wijeratne, Seylan Bank will be the chief sponsor. Nearly 100
leading business establishments will participate.
It is organised by the University of Kelaniya.
One-thousand undergraduates from the Science, Commerce and
Management, Humanities and Social Science faculties will participate.
Director/Career Guidance unit of the University, Ajith Mendis told a
news briefing that undergraduates: the leaders of tomorrow's world will
meet leading business personalities in Sri Lanka. It is heavily focused
on matching company expectations with undergraduate qualifications.
He said that this is not an average job fair. Starting months in
advance of the week of interviews, chosen students will undergo training
that will help them develop their soft skills.
Project Chairman Dr. M. P. Deeyamulla said this special project aims
to strengthen the ties between academia and the corporate world. |
