Moors in stunning win over Bloomfield

CRICKET: Paceman Nandika Ranjith returned outstanding figures of eight wickets for 48 to help Moors SC score a stunning six wicket outright victory over Bloomfield with more than a day to spare in their SLC Premier Trophy inter club four day Tier A league tournament match concluded at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Bloomfield: 135 and 151 (S. Dissanayake 69, S. Gangodawila 19, C. Jayasinghe 18, N. Ranjith 8 for 48).

Moors SC: 161 and 128 for 4 (N. Nawala 50, A. Rideegammanagedera 57 n.o, Tyronne Gamage 3 for 40).


SSC heading for outright win

SSC were well on course to register an easy outright victory over Baduraliya SC on the third day of their SLC Premier Trophy inter club four day Tier A league tournament match continued at Maitland Place yesterday.

Baduraliya SC: 253 and 138 for 9 (D. Witharana 39, H. Wickremaratne 24, P. Liyanage 33 n.o, S. Senanayake 4 for 30, K. Lokuarachchi 2 for 27).

SSC: 514 for 8 decl (T. Kandamby 110, S. Karunanayake 122, D. Prasad 27, A. Ratnayake 2 for 69, L. Dias 3 for 129).

Wicket keeper batsman Lanka de Silva hit an unbeaten century but Tamil Union conceded first innings points to CCC on the third day of their SLC Premier Trophy inter club four day Tier A league tournament match continued at Maitland Crescent yesterday. CCC: 252 and 242 for 4 (M. van Dort 26, J. Mubarak 55, T. Mendis 84 n.o, A. Polonowita 45).

Tamil Union: 216 (L. de Silva 106 n.o, M. Maduwantha 22, M. Ratnayake 2 for 48, A. Wettasinghe 4 for 35, C. Kumara 4 for 60).


NCC take first innings lead

Two good bowling performances by K. Kulasekera (4 for 43) and J. Komasaru (3 for 63) enabled NCC to obtain first innings lead over Colts in their SLC Premier Trophy inter club Tier 'A' league tournament played at Havelock Park yesterday.

NCC: 295 and 122 for 8 (C. Wijesinghe 31, A. Ganegama 21, R. Perera 4 for 33). Colts: 275 (M. Warnapura 77, D. Pathirana 42, T. Perera 27 n.o., K. Kulasekera 4 for 43, J. Komasaru 3 for 63, M. Gajanayake 2 for 42).


Easy for Ragama

Ragama CC gained an easy first innings win over Chilaw Marians and they seemed set for an outright victory in their SLC Premier Trophy inter club Tier 'A' league tournament played at Braybrooke Place yesterday.

Ragama: CC 562 for 8 wkts decl.

Chilaw Marians: 183 (C. Sylvester 24, A. Fernando 37, C. Perera 22, D. Wijekoon 37, M. Bandara 2 for 21, K. Weeraratne 2 for 54, D. Gamage 2 for 36, D. Perera 2 for 21) and 99 for 4 (A. Athulathmudali 56).
