Heart value defect

Baby Chathurya Imandi, diagnosed with a Ventricular Sepral Defect (VSD), has been advised to undergo immediate heart surgery, by Dr. Gamini Ranasinghe, Consultant Cardiac Surgeon of the Apollo Hospitals.

Her parents cannot afford the cost of Rs. 450,000 and the father, K. R. Sisira Kumara, who is enlisted with the Gemunu Watch of the Sri Lanka Army, appeals to the generous public to contribute to A/c No. 088200142860128 of the People's Bank (Any branch), to help save their child. Cheques may be drawn in favour of Chathurya Imandi (Hospital Registration No. 278409), payable to The Lanka Hospitals Corporation PLC - A/c No. 0020409746.


Kidney transplant

Consultant Nephologist Dr. A. L. M. Nazar of the National Hospital has recommended a kidney transplant operation on 15-year-old Chatura Dilshan of 390/1, Sama Mawatha, Biyagama, who is at End Stage kidney failure, and at present the patient is on regular haemodialysis.

The child's father is willing to donate a kidney but the pre and post transplant investigations and anti rejection therapy will cost approximately Rs. 250,000. Since the parents are unable to raise the necessary funds, they seek public assistance.

An account has been opened in the name of the patient's mother Priyanthi Chandrika account No. 191-2-001-6-0000216, Bank of Ceylon. Well-wishers are requested to remit their donations to the above account. Please contact: 011-4862743.


Cochlear implant

Mast. Mohamed Shameer is suffering from a hearing impediment and has been advised by the ENT Surgeon of the Apollo Hospitals, Dr. Devanand Jha, to undergo Coachlear implantation at the earliest.

The surgery is estimated to cost Rs. 2,800,000 (Rs. 2.8 m) and Shameer's father, who is a pavement hawker by profession, appeals to the general public, to help restore his son's hearing by contributing to A/c. No. 014-2-001-7-5040191 of the People's Bank, Union Place branch, Colombo in favour of Mohamed Ameer Aslam.
