Textured Jersey launches fleece program
Textured Jersey Lanka (TJL), a joint venture involving Pacific
Textiles and the country's top apparel export group Brandix, has
launched an in-region fleece program in Sri Lanka under which the
company will produce fleece exclusively for Victoria's Secret PINK, the
#1 loungewear brand in the world. The company's state-of-the-art 650,000
square-foot facility at Avissawella has acquired specialised machinery
for the production of fleece fabric that will be used exclusively in the
manufacture of hoodies and pants for the PINK brand at the Brandix
Intimate Apparel plants, enabling the reduction of lead times
considerably.
The new initiative was flagged off by Denise Landman, President of
PINK - Victoria's Secret USA who along with Sharen J. Turney, President
and CEO of Victoria's Secret Mega Brands USA led two teams of Senior
Executives from Limited Brands and Mast Industries on recent visits to
Sri Lanka and India.
The in-region fleece program is a milestone for Textured Jersey, as
it marks a significant strengthening of its capabilities and scope as
well as its commitment to Victoria's Secret PINK, said Rohan
Goonetilleke, Managing Director of TJL. This is yet another example of
the Brandix Group's inspired solutions and continuing dedication to
vertical integration. Textured Jersey produces technically demanding
weft knit fabrics for intimate apparel, ladies casual and leisure wear,
men's underwear and sportswear.
The factory has the capacity to knit, dye and finish 2.6 million
