Helitours maiden charter to Koggala

Helitours, the passenger arm of the Sri Lanka Air Force launched their maiden charter flight to Koggala last week, carrying VIP clients from Russia.

Explore Asia Holidays, a tour operating company which is catering mainly to the up market Russian clientele was the first operator to charter this flight as Air Force commenced their operations to the tourism industry in the country. The clients have expressed their sincere gratitude for the services and facilities provided by Explore Asia, Helitours and The Fortress in Koggala during their 20-day holiday in Sri Lanka.

Helitours, which is operating scheduled flights to Jaffna, has now decided to operate their much-awaited Trincomalee flight with a stop over in Sigiriya. This would be on Friday and Sunday.

Earlier Helitours was to fly to Trincomalee every Friday and return on Sunday and the Sigiriya flights was a turn around flight on Sunday.

"We are also looking at selling the Helitours tickets through travel agents in the future," an official from the Air Force said.
