Anything with a ‘pottu’ charm pressed onto
something close to home keeps me entirely enthused. Especially when
looking back at both our lines of ancestry it is somewhat a similar
anecdote in reverse; the only difference is that my maternal
grandmother's memory seems rather dim when asked where exactly in
Kerala.

The immigrant and diasporic novel
A prominent diasporic writer featured at the
HSBC Galle Literary Festival of 2011 is Manju Kapur who is the
author of three bestselling novels; Difficult Daughters, A Married
Woman and Home . Manju Kapur lives in New Delhi where she teaches
English Literature at Miranda House, Delhi University. Her latest
novel is The Immigrant.
