Best Corporate Citizen Awards 2012

Aitken Spence won the Best Corporate Citizen Award at the Best Corporate Citizen Awards 2012, organised by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) in Colombo last week for the ninth consecutive year. Singer (Sri Lanka) became the first runner -up, while Ceylon Biscuits Ltd was the second runner-up.The National Development Bank was the winner in the less than Rs15 billion turnover category. Standard Chartered Bank and People's Leasing Company became the first and second runner-up in the same category.

The ten best corporate citizens were Aitken Spence, Ceylon Biscuits Ltd, Diesel and Motor Engineering, HSBC, National Development Bank, People's Leasing Company, Singer (Sri Lanka), Sri Lanka Telecom, Standard Chartered Bank and Unilever Sri Lanka.Aitken Spence also won two sector awards for Environment and Economic contribution and Governance, while the sector award for Social People and CSR was won by Singer (Sri Lanka).

The Best CSR project winners were Ceylon Biscuits, Commercial Bank, Coca Cola Beverages, Diesel and Motor Engineering, Asian Recycling,Tokyo Cement, Janashakthi Insurance and Standard Charted Bank.
