by Uditha Kumarasinghe
Petroleum Industries Minister Susil Premajayantha told Parliament
yesterday that the Committee appointed to inquire into the gas leak at
theSapugaskanda Oil refinery will probe if the incident was an act of
sabotage.
Two persons died and 10 were hospitalised following the gas leak at
the refinery on Friday afternoon.
The Minister said that the gas leak had occurred when some
maintenance work was under way at the refinery which had started around
3.30 p.m. The leak had been contained around 8.00 p.m. and hence there
was no harm to the environment.
The Minister who did not name the members of the Committee said they
