Sister, brother need help
Two children, aged 5 (S.A. Kavindu Akalanka Bandara) and aged 12
(S.A. Tharindi Sewmini) are suffering from a rare genetic disease
diagnosed as Goucher, an ailment resulting in inability to produce the
said essential enzyme. Both have to undergo enzyme therapy throughtout
their lives, according to the consultant paediatrician Dr. Padmakanthi
Wijesooriya of the Lady Ridgway Hospital, Colombo. The cerazyme an
injection had to purchase localy and costs five lakhs of Sri Lankan
rupees for a dose per child. The family lost the second child as well
due to same.
Their parents appeal to the generous public for help. Contributions
