Historic records reveal that a ‘wind–drawn’ wheel
was used to operate a machine as far back as the first century AD by
a Greek engineer known as Heron of Alexandria. This was considered
the first known instance of wind power being used to operate
machines.

dispensation of Buddha Padumuttara. She was a pious devotee of the

Bhikkhunis in the Sasana to the rank of the foremost of the
enlightened Bhikkhuni.
