Sri Lanka's 'Beauty Stars' to be feted at Ananda College

Tharunee 4ever 'Beauty Star,' a programme organised y the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL) and 4 Ever Skin Naturals (Pvt) Limited will be held at the Kularatne Hall, Ananda College on August 10 at 6.00 pm.

A press briefing on the event was held recently at the ANCL, and the chief organiser of the event, Chandhani Bandara, renowned beautician and cosmetologist expressed her views as follows:

"As a beautician, I have made a name for myself in the beauty culture sphere and achieved success in my business ventures. From my young days, I had a dream to appreciate and give due recognition to the veterans and experts in the field. I am now realising my dream in collaboration with Sri Lanka's most popular women's weekly newspaper, Tharunee.

"We published a coupon for six months in the Tharunee newspaper for our readers to fill in with the name of their favourite beautician and post to us. The Super Beauty Star and 10 more beauty stars will be selected on the basis of the coupons we have received and they will be felicitated at the event.

"We selected Tharunee due to the wide response we received when we toured Sri Lanka to conduct beauty workshops organised by the newspaper.

We have already received over 35,000 coupons making the competition interesting with about 20 renowned beauticians from all parts of the island in a neck-to-neck race. The completed coupons were handled by the Audit Department of ANCL with complete transparency.

We will receive the final judgment from them. Neither the Tharunee Editorial Department nor 4ever is involved in the selection process.

"Any one interested could visit ANCL and meet the Tharunee Editor and make inquiries about the selection process. They may contact Visani on 0718-683614 and register themselves to witness the gala event, filled with entertainment.

As the Kularatne Hall has a seating capacity of only 850 pax, they have to reserve their seats as early as possible."

"Everybody attending the colourful event will receive a copy of the newest Tharunee newspaper and a gift pack of 4ever products.

"TV Derana is the electronic media sponsor and Lassana Flora will provide the flowers for the star-studded evening."
