by Dhaneshi Yatawara
The Sri Lanka Army's Board of Inquiry, set up by the new Army
Commander Lt. Gen. Daya Ratnayake, has commenced inquiries into the
allegations of Army personnel attacking the crowd who were protesting in
Weliweriya.
The Board is headed by Major Gen. Jagath Dias, a very senior office
and the present Adjutant General of the Army.
"If the Army personnel were found guilty they will be dealt with
accordingly.
But before that, according to our rules and regulations, we have to
look into all evidence and inquire into every detail. For us, discipline
is number one and a proper disciplinary action will be taken if they
have violated the rules and regulations," Lt. Gen. Rathnayake said. |
