Rs. 240 million for Dhamma school teachers

The government has allocated Rs. 240 million this year to provide uniform material and library allowances to Sunday Dhamma school teachers islandwide. About 87,000 Dhamma school teachers will benefit by this. About 121,000 Dhamma school teachers are serving presently at Sunday Dhamma schools islandwide and those who have completed one year service period are entitled to receive these incentives, said Ven. K. Dhammaratana Nayaka Thera, the Chief advisor of Kurunegala District Sunday Dhamma schools at a meeting of Dhamma school teachers of the NWP held recently.
