Ratha Lalani Jayakody and Sampath Thennakoon will present the
following plays for Abhinayana Sampath Rathna Ranga Bhoomika show at the
New Town Hall, Colombo 7: Suba Sendevak on December 17, Mayadevi on
December 18, Puthra Samagama on December 19, Guru Tharuwa on December
20, Jaganmatha on December 21, Romaya Gini 2 on December 22 and
Thalamala Pipila on December 23 All the shows will start at 6.45 p.m.
Saving Face at American Center
The American Center Colombo will commemorate ‘16 Days of Activism
against Gender Violence’ by screening the award winning documentary film
Saving Face followed by a panel discussion tomorrow at 5.30 p.m. The
panelists include Shyamala Gomez, Lawyer/Country Director Fokus Women,
Dr. Selvy Thiruchandran, Executive Director, Women’s Education and
Research Centre and Dilrukshi De Alwis, Project Manager, Women In Need
Plastic Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Jawad who assisted the acid-attack
survivors in the documentary will join in the discussion via Skype from
the UK. The event will be held in the American Center auditorium,
Colombo 3.
Sri Lankan Art Exhibition 2013
The George Keyt Foundation in association with Nations Trust Bank and
American Express Cards will hold an exhibition of Sri Lankan art from
December 12 to 15 at the J.D.A. Perera Gallery, Colombo 7.
Kelani Palama
R.R. Samarakoon's Kelani Palama will be staged at the Zacharias Hall,
Wennappuwa on December 7 at 2.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m.
Jothi to launch audio album
Popular Tamil playback singer V. Arul Jothi, dubbed as the
‘Eelathtahu Sinna Soundarajan’ who has performed in Sri Lanka, India and
many world capitals together with celebrities such as S.B. Balasundrama,
Dr. Sivasithambaram and Anuradha Sri Ram will launch the “Nagamalai
Audio Album” in Melbourne, Australia at the ‘Golden Musical Event’
musical concert on December 5. |
