Rs. 2,040 million for free school uniforms

The Government has taken steps to provide four million student population with free uniform material for 2014 at a cost of Rs. 2,040 million. Schoolchildren and novice monks at pirivenas islandwide including the Northern and Eastern Provinces will get free uniform material on December 6, Minister of Educational Services Duminda Dissanayake said to Sunday Observer recently.

The distribution of free uniform material has begun and all students would get their due uniform material before the closure of schools for the third school term in December this year.
