Team NDB - victorious at ALM competition

The team of financial professionals from NDB, which represented the Asian and European cluster at the seventh International Asset and Liability Management (ALM) competition emerged champions at the finals in Paris recently.

The event was organised for the seventh consecutive year by a consortium of international agencies that promote financial development globally.

The competition was conducted in two phases. The first phase, which lasted three months, was an online exercise. Several banks from all over the world participated in the first round. Four finalists were invited to Paris for the final round of the competition.

During the second phase, participants were tested thoroughly on their ability to make sound judgments on the management of a financial institution under different internal and external scenarios.

The NDB team emerged as the winners which satisfied overall risk management skills coupled with profitability and stability.

Chief Executive Officer, NDB, Rajendra Theagarajah said, "This competition offered us an opportunity to showcase our ALM and Risk Management skills globally."
