Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam |
The Tamil National People's Front (TNPF) led by former
parliamentarian Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam, grandson of the Tamil leader
G.G.Ponnambalam - the founder of the oldest Tamil political party in Sri
Lanka, the All Ceylon Tamil Congress (ACTC) will oppose any communal
hardline politics during the parliamentary election campaign.
Ponnambalam told the Sunday Observer that Sri Lanka is a
multi-national country belonging to all communities and the party would
promote the recognition of this concept by all political parties and
stake holders, and would stand opposed against the notion of communal
hardliners that the country belongs only to the Sinhala Buddhists.
TNPF will field candidates in all electoral districts in the North
and East, he said.
