'Team Jeep' takes honours at Southern Night Rally 2015

Team Jeep emerged overall winners at the Jeep Wrangler Southern Night
Rally 2015.
'The journey through the wilderness of the South' was held from
September 25-26. The annual TSD Rally is considered the most challenging
and one of the best-organized events by most motor rally sportsmen.
The 455 km course, which ran through the back roads of Matara,
Hambantota and Galle districts comprised 41 checkpoints.
Aloka de Silva driving, a Jeep Wrangler Sport was overall third
runner-up and Nalin Premarathne driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee was the
fourth runner-up.
The 200 km first stage consisted of 70% tar and 30% gravel course and
started in Matara and passed Thihagoda, Yatiyana, Kadduwa, Weligama,
Kokmaduwa, Yakkalamulla, Udugama, Mapalagama, Nagoda and ended in Galle.
The second stage consisted of 65% tar and concrete and 35% gravel course
and started in Galle at 2.00 am and passed Kananke, Makumbura, Udugama,
Maplagama, Thawalama, Neluwa, Morawaka, Darangala, Kamburupitiya,
Akuressa, Malimboda and Matara.
The Jeep service crew provided assistance to 'Team Jeep' at various
points. Four back-up vehicles accompanied the 'Team Jeep' ensuring its
success.
