Patrick Amarasinghe laid to rest

Former Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) Chairman and veteran industrialist, Patrick Amarasinghe passed away on Friday at the age of 83.

He was the founder President of the National Chamber of Exporters and former Chairman of the Ceylon National Chamber of Industries.

He initiated the annual Entrepreneur of the Year awards scheme at provincial and national level and set up the Young Entrepreneurs Sri Lanka in 1998 to empower school children and university students through entrepreneurship education. His funeral took place at the Borella Cemetery yesterday.
