Sylvestrian duo wins gold and bronze

St. Sylvester's College, Kandy did well to win two medals (gold and bronze) at the National Games held last month at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo.

Last year the Sylvestrians won a single Gold medal and this year's result was a marked improvement despite the limited facilities. The winners of the medals were gymnasts Ravindu Shehan (gold) who won at the Floor Exercise and Vaulting Horse and Gihan Mayura (bronze) in the Floor Exercise.

In 2014 at the National Games, Ravindu Shehan won a Gold for Floor Exercise and a Bronze for Vaulting Horse. St.Sylvester's also won the Kandy District team Championship for the past eight years since 2007 as well as the Central Province Championship from 2012 to date.
