Air Arabia adds more flights to Damascus

Air Arabia LLC, is operating extra flights to Damascus till August 7 and looking at further extension also. The airline operated extra flights in July too.

The additional flights have been pressed into service to airlift passengers who moved to the Syrian capital by land after the shut down of the Beirut Airport in the aftermath of the Israeli attacks.

The airline will also review further extra flights to Damascus after analysing the ground situation on a daily basis, depending on whether the Damascus airport's schedule and capacity allowed such an increase.

CEO of Air Arabia Adel Ali said: "We decided to have additional frequency on the Sharjah-Damascus sector to facilitate the airlift of passengers who are stranded in Damascus following the Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

The decision to boost our schedules to Syria reflects our commitment to the people of this region in this moment of crisis and humanitarian need. We are putting various alternative procedures in place due to the unexpected operational circumstances," he said.
