Two valuable stands help Lanka recover

of the second day of the Second cricket Test between Sri Lanka and

CR enter Clifford Cup final
CR & FC entered the final of the Caltex Clifford
Cup knock-out Rugby Championship with a close 21 points (3 tries, 2
penalties) to 13 (1 goal, 2 penalties) win over Air Force in the
first semi-final at Longden Place yesterday. CR had a slender 8-7
lead at lemons.

60 slicers for SAARC c'ship
Slicers from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the
Maldives, Nepal together with Sri Lanka will play in the 10th SAARC
Carrom Championships from August 13 to 15 at the White Haven Hotel,
Panadura. Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka is hosting the
championships.
