Spikers from Raddoluwa, Dambadeniya victorious

The spikers from Raddoluwa Ekamuthu SC and Dambadeniya Tharuna Pela emerged mens and womens champions respectively in the Kit Presidents Volleyball Tournament conducted by the Volleyball Federation of Sri Lanka at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium yesterday.

Ekamuthu SC won the men's titles in straight sets 3-0. It was plainsailins for the winner. They had able spikers in Jagath Senadeera, Milanka Perera, Melan Jayawardena. Its main asset was its strong defence. Ekamuthu SC took only 70 minutes to complete the match.

They won the first set 23/21 in 23 minutes, the second 25-20 in 22 minutes and took the third 25-18 in 25 minutes, for a resounding and smashing win over Tharuna Pela.

The women's final was a close contest and Dambadeniya Tharuna Pela won it over Bopitiya Navodaya SC by 3 sets 2. Dambadeniya Tharuna Pela took the first set 25-21, second and third sets was won by Navodaya SC 25-23 and 25-10. Then Tharuna Pela made it 2-all winning the fourth set 31-29.
