Foreign employment scam busted

A woman who is alleged to have duped several persons by promising to send them to Japan have been taken in for questioning by the Cinnamon Garden police.

OIC Cinnamon Garden Police Chief Inspector Sagara Keertipala said that they are investigating whether the suspect had defrauded another woman from Ratnapura to the tune of Ruppes one lakh by proming to send her son to Japan.

"We are also investigating whether the Minister of Vocational and Technical Training, Piyasena Gamage's name had been dragged in the shady deal," he said.
