President Tharunyayata Hetak Namal Rajapaksa told a press briefing
recently that they have already identified 25 schools and the proposed
facilities will be provided without any discrimination.
"The purpose of selecting Trincomalee district was to treat all
students alike irrespective of religion, ethnic and the class
difference", he said. Rajapaksa said the programme will be extended to
Batticaloa, and Jaffna before the end of this year. A poster campaign
will be organised to raise funds for the programme.
He said the 'Tharunyayata Hetak' has been built on ideals of racial
and religious amity. Within its brief tenure of it has launched several
projects to save youth from drug menace.
