Moors crawl to 256 for 8

CRICKET: Moors SC laboured the entire opening day to score a modest 256 for 8 in their first innings in their SLC under 23 division one cricket tournament match which commenced at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium yesterday.

Mathews hits 81

All rounder Angelo Mathews hit a top score of 81 with one six and eleven boundaries but Colts CC were dismissed for 152 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC under 23 division one cricket tournament match against Ragama CC which began at Havelock Park yesterday.

Colts CC: 152 (A. Mathews 81, G. Fernando 4 for 41, T. Waduge 2 for 15, R. Perera 2 for 40)

Chilaw Marians 226

Priyantha Chandrasekera took a five wicket haul as Saracens SC dismissed Chilaw Marians SC for 226 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC under 23 division one cricket tournament match which began at Katunayake yesterday.

Seeduwa Raddoluwa hit back

Seeduwa Raddoluwa SC after been dismissed for 180 hit back strongly to reduce Kurunegala YCC to 105 for 6 in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC under 23 division one cricket tournament match which began at the Welagedera Stadium in Kurunegala yesterday.

Seeduwa RSC: 180 (A. Perera 45, M. Kumara 47, S. Dassanayake 5 for 45)

Kurunegala YCC: 105 for 6 (R. Ratnayake 47, M. Kumara 5 for 34)

Moratuwa shot out for 120

Seekuge Prasanna captured six wickets for 19 runs as Sri Lanka Army SC bowled out Moratuwa SC for 120 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC under 23 division one cricket tournament match which began at Moratuwa yesterday.

Moratuwa SC: 120 (N. Priyanjana 36, H. de Silva 28, C. Prasanna 6 for 19, C. Weerakoon 3 for 54)

Army SC: 216 for 6 (D. Chaturanga 68, M. Millawarachchi 58 n.o, T. Silva 2 for 51)

SSC pile up 356 for 6

Janudika Sriyapala made a well compiled unbeaten century (102 n.o.) and two brisk half centuries from Shalika Karunanayake (60) an Dunil Abeydeera (51 not out) enabled SSC to declare at 356 for 6 against Sebastianites CC in their under-23 Premier League cricket match played at SSC grounds yesterday.

Sebastianites in reply were 21 for no loss at close.

It was Sriyapala's second century for the season. Yesterday's ton included 8 fours and a six.

SSC 356 for 6 decl (Naveen Perera 34, Hans Fernando 44, J. Sriyapala 102 n.o., S. Karunanayake 60, D. Abeydeera 51 n.o., Gerald Bennet 3 for 64).

NCC take first innings points

A good bowling performance by paceman Kosala Kulasekera for NCC saw them gain first inning points over CCC in their under-23 Premier League cricket match played at the CCC grounds yesterday.

CCC were dismissed for a paultry 136 runs and NCC in reply were 197 for 7 with Damith Mapabandara on 33 unbeaten.

CCC: 136 (C. Bandara 54, G. Wijetilleke 28, K. Kulasekera 5 for 50, T. Kottahewa 4 for 29).

NCC: 197 for 7 (U. Tharanga 33, M. Gunathileke 23, S. Wijeratne 21, S. Bowala 2 for 69, S. Boralessa 4 for 30).

Bloomfield 217

Kandy YCC were 49 for no lose in reply to Bloomfield's 217 in their under-23 Cricket match played at Bloomfield grounds yesterday.

Bloomfield: 217 (A. Priyanjan 43, R. Rathika 38, C. de Silva 49, A. Adikari 27 n.o., S. Pathirana 5 for 77, C. Ranaweera 2 for 22).

Kandy YCC: 49 for no loss (C. Ishanka 33 n.o.)
