Over 10,000 jobs at FTZs

Over 10,000 jobs are available for Sri Lankan job seekers at all Free Trade Zones (FTZ) in the country.

According to a BOI survey, 3,082 jobs are available at the Katunaiyake FTZ, 2,016 at Biyagama, 931 at Koggala, 1,257 at Wathupitiwala, 987 at Seethawaka, 640 at Mawathagama, 805 at Meerigama, 344 at Pallekale, 131 at Horana and 55 at the Malwatta Free Trade Zones.

Investment Promotion and Export Development Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama said the details of the job categories could be obtained from the data bank, at the Ministry office and from the relevant FTZ offices.

It is reported that there are jobs for technicians, quality controllers, electricians, machine operators, storekeepers, supervisors, computer operators and skilled and unskilled workers.
