Final UPFA nomination lists by next week
UPFA Secretary, Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha said that
the UPFA final nomination lists for Sabaragamuwa and the North Central
provinces will be announced by the end of next week.
He said the UPFA has decided to give nominations to all members of
the previous Sabaragamuwa and North Central Provincial Councils at the
forthcoming PC polls. The UPFA has asked its partners to submit the
names of their candidates to the UPFA nomination committee before the
end of next week.
He said that the final decision on the nomination lists will be taken
by the UPFA nomination committee of Messrs Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka,
Maithripala Sirisena, D. M. Jayaratne, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Dullas
Alahapperuma and Susil Premajayantha.
He said that the SLFP commenced its political campaign on an
electoral basis yesterday in the Sabaragamuwa and North Central
