Chamara Vithanage appeals to reconsider his suspension

The former Kingswood and Kandy Sports Club and Sri Lanka Sevens captain Chamara Vithanage has withdrawn all his legal cases against the governing body Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union (SLRFU). This was done by Chamara since the SLRFU Council decided to reconsider his suspension provided he withdraws all his cases.

The Council meeting took place in April 2008 and Chamara withdrew his cases from Courts in May 2008. Since the Caltex League is also coming to an end and the much importance international sevens tournament are on card it would be better if the governing body takes a decision sooner than later.

The Sri Lanka Sevens outfit will face the home challenge in the 10th Singer Sri Lankan International Rugby Sevens in September this year and later will participate in the World Cup Qualifiers which will take place in Hong Kong.
