Isipatana crush Vidyartha 62-3

RUGBY: Isipatana College powered their way to a rousing 62 points to 3 points victory over Vidyartha College, Kandy in their Singer inter school under 20 Division One Group ‘A’ league rugby tournament match worked off at Havelock Park yesterday.

Isipatana College virtually had their own in a completely one sided encounter as they crossed their opponents goal line on as many as eleven occasions and converted two tries and also put over a penalty.

Isipatana got off to a flying start and built up a commanding 28-3 lead at half time. Vidyartha College responded with a solitary penalty.

Centre Srimantha Suriyabandara and winger Ashan Gallage ran down three tries each while centre Viswamithra Jayasinghe and fly half Dilanka Gunasekera scored two tries each and Dimitri Wijetunga scored a try for the winners. Gunasekera also converted two tries while Dimitri Wijetunga put over the penalty.
