CRICKET: Sri Lanka Under-19 captain and former Royal College cricket
captain Bhanuka Rajapakse sprang into first place ousting his two
closest rivals Anandian Sachitra Perera and teammate Ramith Rambukwella
at the end of count number 8 in the Observer/Mobitel Most Popular
Schoolboy
Cricketer All Island Contest 2011.Bhanuka, who was a prolific scorer
during the recently concluded England Under-19 tour had been among the
first three candidates and has found himself perched on top with 33,107
votes to the 33,042 polled by Rambukwella and 32,978 by Sachitra Perera.
In the Outstation category St. Servatius' Sanjika Ridma took the top
spot ahead of Royal Panadura's Dushan Vimukthi and Maris Stella's
Chatura Dilshan.
