A study concluded at the end of 2009 disclosed that more than three women are killed in domestic violence related cases a day in the USA. This totals to 1100 women falling victim to the crime and although we do not hear about such violence so often in Sri Lanka, there is ample violence inflicted against women although we are only a fraction of America in terms of size.
