UPFA brimming with confidence to secure Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia
Kesaralal Gunasekara, a well-known figure both in
national and local politics, who led the opposition in the
Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Municipal Council is of the opinion that the
activities of the local government should be broadbased to cover
more areas which have not been effectively tackled either by the
central government or the provincial councils.

Rs.17,880 million project:
Pipe-borne water for Jaffna and Kilinochchi for first time
The Government is implementing a massive water
supply and sanitation project in Jaffna and Kilinochchi at a cost of
Rs. 17,880 million (US $ 164.4 M.) The Asian Development Bank (ADB)
has agreed to provide financial assistance of approximately Rs. 10
billion (US $ 90 M) for the project.
