Chemistry exhibition and open day

The College of Chemical Sciences of the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon will organise an exhibition and open day to cater essentially to school students who wish to enhance their knowledge of chemistry and important applications of chemistry in daily life. CHEMEX 2 will be a follow up to the successful exhibition that was held in January to herald the International Year of Chemistry in 2011.

Professor J. N. Oleap Fernando, Honorary Rector of the College stated that this event, which will be held at their headquarters at Adamantine House, Welikada, Rajagiriya from November 24-26 will include Advanced Level laboratory experiments, training seminars, chemistry, magic shows, debating competitions, display of chemical applications in national development and other interesting exhibits.

They will be appropriate and relevant to schoolchildren and the public. A national Titration Competition among A/L students will also be held for the first time in Sri Lanka from November 15, just before CHEMEX 2.
