Fuel prices revised
The Government has decided to revise fuel prices with effect from
Saturday (February 11) midnight, a press release issued by the
Government Information Department said last night.
According to Petroleum Resources Ministry, a litre of petrol, diesel
and kerosene have been increased by Rs. 12, Rs. 31 and Rs. 35
respectively.
However, the Government has taken steps to ensure that public
transport including private and CTB buses, fishing operators, school
transport services and three-wheelers and other common transport
services will not be affected by the revised fuel prices. They will be
provided with fuel at concessionary rates.
The revision of fuel prices in the local market is due to the
unexpected increase of world crude oil prices.
The decision to revise fuel prices has been taken after reaching a
consensus with organisations representing fishing operators, private bus
operators and other common transport service operators, the press
release added. |
