Cambrians crush Joseph Vaz

Former Sri Lanka Schools Under-15 skipper and Cambrian opener and
stumper Kusal Mendis hit up a magnificent 206 runs against Joseph Vaz
College, Wennappuwa which enabled Prince of Wales to beat them by an
innings and 162 runs and register their fourth victory for the season
played at Moratuwa.
Kusal's double hundred consisted of 29 fours and one six and faced
214 balls and occupied the crease for 244 minutes and thus became the
fourth Cambrian to notch up a double hundred and others were Lantra
Fernando, Wivantha Fernando and Nayana Ranjith. Also he joined the
select band of 1,000 brigade Cambrians and so far he has scored 1,015
runs in thirteen matches and the only schoolboy to score a double
hundred this season.
Cambrians resuming at 279 for 4 declared at 333 for 9 with Hansaka
Ratnayake claiming 4 for 97 and in their second essay.
Joseph Vaz were bundled out for a Paltry 76 runs with Hashan Fernando
and Thilan Nimesh claiming 4 for 40 and 3 for 7.
Two Cambrians Shanaka Dulaj and Thilan Nimesh passed the fifty scalps
during the course of this match.
