Gurukula win by 196 runs

Gurukula Vidyalaya, Kelaniya beat St. Aloysius College, Galle by 196 runs to register their seventh victory in eleven outings when they beat them at Prisons Grounds, Colombo in their inter-school under-19 cricket match.

Singular batting first were all out for 105 runs with Dinushka Marlon claiming 6 for 34 and in reply visitors were bowled out for a paltry 58 runs with Nalin Perera capturing 4 for 23.

In their second essay Gurukula bounced back and declared at 289 for 6 with Lisula Lakshan 77, Harshan Dumindu 75 and Nalin Perera 50. In their second innings Aloysious did much better to score 140 runs with Dinushka Marlon scoring 51 runs.

Gurukula: 105 (Shehan Lakshitha 23, Cristy Ashan 21, Dinushka Marlon 6 for 34, Thilan Madushan 2 for 34, Akalanka Nilanduwage 2 for 19 and 289 for 6 dec. Lisula Lakshan 77, Hashan Duminda 75, Chamod Sulakshana 47, Nalin Perera 50, Roshan Anuruddha 30, Dinushka Marlon 2 for 75.

St. Aloysius: 58 (Bimsara Samarakoon 23, Nalin Perera 4 for 23, Dushan Danushka 3 for 6, Hashan Dumindu 2 for 6 and 140 (Dinushka Marlon 51, Nushan Sandakelum 21, Roshan Anuruddha 2 for 33, Ashan Dumindu 3 for 27, Dushan Danushka 3 for 20).
