Piramal Glass Ceylon wins many awards

Piramal Glass Ceylon PLC won many awards recently. It won the 'Gold Award' in the Chemical and Ceramic sector under the Manufacturing Segment category at the National Business Excellence Awards conducted by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) to recognise business enterprises which have demonstrated excellence in business, while contributing to the economic progress of the country,

It also bagged the 'C Category' award in the Large Manufacturing and Services category at the National Productivity Awards.


Piramal Glass, CEO, Sanjay Tiwari and Head of Finance, Ms. Niloni Boteju receiving the award from Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal.

MD and CEO, Piramal Glass, Sanjay Tiwari said, "This a unique competition organised by the 'Ministry of Labour Relations and Productivity Promotion' for organisations that have strived to face international competitiveness through productivity promotion.

It involves the effective implementation of productivity strategies, adoption of effective techniques of productivity improvement, consideration of innovative approaches while creating a harmonious workplace with employee involvement programs and good labour management relations".

At the National Chamber of Exporters awards, Piramal Glass was recognised for the third consecutive year with a Gold award. The National Chamber of Exporters is the main institute which recognises and rewards exceptional exporters for the contribution made to sustain and expand the local economy.

Piramal Glass was also the recipient of the Global Commerce Excellence Award, which is a 'one time' award bestowed by the Government. The initiative is taken by the Central Bank.

"Piramal Glass in particular invested over $40 million in a new state-of-the-art glass plant at Wagawatte, Horana in 2007 by doubling its capacity. We are honoured and proud of being a recipient of this award," said Tiwari. "Piramal Glass looks forward to 2013 with renewed confidence and determination to better its performance".
