New passenger terminal at Palaly Airport
A new terminal has been added to ease passenger operations at Palaly
air port. The fully equipped air movement building was constructed by
SLAF Palaly. The new terminal was a long felt need for military and
civil air passengers who travel between Palaly and Colombo.
The new facility was opened by Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal
Harsha Abeywickrama at a function held at the Palaly Air Port on Friday.
With the post-war development activities in full swing the former
conflict zone has seen an unprecedented economic and social revival. The
opening of new tourist destinations has led to a boom in the Northern
hospitality industry.
The domestic air transportation industry is poised to achieve greater
heights in the future as Sri Lanka has already surpassed the mile stone
of million tourist arrivals in December 2012.
