'Singer Seya' photography competition
The Singer Seya web competition gives photography enthusiasts an
opportunity to be recognised for their skills. The Singer Sri Lanka fan
page on Facebook invites amateur photographers to upload photographs
that correspond to a monthly theme that is stated on the page.
The top three photos are judged according to the number of 'likes'
that a photo receives on the Facebook page. The winners will receive
Samsung digital cameras.
"The response from local amateur photographers has been overwhelming
and their submissions have been of a high standard. The monthly winners
are announced on Facebook and a prize-giving is held once in two months
at the Singer Sri Lanka Head Office," a spokesman for the company said.
The prize giving for October and November winners was held on January
31. The winner of the October competition, Wijesundara, received the
highest 'likes' on the Singer Sri Lanka Facebook page. The winner for
November was Sampath Palliyaguruge.
The Singer Seya competition began in October 2012 and will continue
till October 2013, after which an exhibition will take place displaying
120 of the best photographs.
The competition has been organised to create a platform for young and
upcoming amateur photographers. The themes that have been prescribed
since October are 'General', 'Lifestyle' and 'Christmas'. The only
regulation for submitting a photo is that it cannot be edited or
conditioned.
'Friendship' was the theme for March.
Those interested in entering the competition can join the fan page
and upload a photograph inspired by friendship.
Singer retails Samsung, Fujifilm and Sony digital cameras, offering a
range that caters to amateur photographers and the varied requirements
of professional cameramen. wi-fi enabled cameras are the latest offering
from the Samsung range. |
