Abans introduces pocket printer

LG Pocket Photo printers will soon be available in Sri Lanka. This convenient and portable printer which is 4.75 inches tall, 2.83 inches wide and 0.94 inches thick and instantly prints pictures on photo quality paper.

"This printer looks similar to a old-school Polaroid camera, but creates pictures of a much higher standard. Pocket Photo works when you transfer images from your Smartphone to the device for immediate printing," a spokesman for the company said.

The device needs to be used in conjunction with the LG Pocket Photo App, which takes pictures using the phone's camera. The app allows you to edit these pictures and can even generate QR codes that you can print.

The Pocket Photo printer is equipped with Near Field Communication (NFC) which can transfer photos from your Smartphone to your printer when the devices are within range of each other.

However, Bluetooth technology or even a USB cable can be used to transfer images.

Zero Ink (Zink) Technology is used to print the images. The printer heats up dye crystals embedded in the printing paper, which triggers colour changes according to that of the image. The pictures created by the printer measure 2 by 3 inches.

This compact, portable device is available in pink, silver and orange colours.
