Bilateral pacts with Thailand strengthened Lanka’s ties

Management Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva told Parliament on Friday
that the bilateral agreements signed by President Mahinda Rajapaksa with
Thailand’s Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on his reciprocal visit to
Thailand in 2012 had resulted in greater cooperation in the agriculture,
fisheries and education sectors.

Astrologers no, no, on Ranil’s political future
Many politicians concentrated on the astrological
changes that took place last Friday. Prominent astrologers had to work
overtime to cater to the unprecedented demand from leading politicians,
mainly from the Opposition. Some UNP politicians thought that they could
