
Jaleel takes slender lead of 15 votes over Abeysekera

The competition for all three segments platinum , Gold and Silver for
schools playing in the division one, two and three are bound to be
intense ones as the deficit between the first two candidates in the
Platinum Contest Royal’s Milan Abeysekera (64,987) who was placed first
last week and Thurstan’s Minhaj Jaleel (65,002) who pushed Abeysekera
into second place with the slimmest lead of just 15 votes.
In the ‘Gold ‘ St.John’s Nugegoda’s Yamal Siriwardena (50,127) at top
is holding a 129 vote majority over Sri Devananda’s Sakunda de Silva who
polled (49,998) at the end of the 19th week’s count in the Sunday
Observer/Mobitel Most popular schoolboy Cricketer Of The year 2013
contest.
In the Silver category for Division III schools, Sri Rahula College
,Katugasthota’s Ishara Hewage (44,879) who was placed first last week
took the second slot as Trishan Rodrigo of Loyala College, Negombo who
had polled in (44,911) votes was placed first with a majority of just 32
votes. All in all there is going to be a close tussle for supremacy in
all three segments which should keep their readers heals tapping.
