CCC bags Gold at Annual Report awards
The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) won a Gold Award in the Non
Profit Organisation and Non Government Organisation category at the 49th
Annual Report Awards ceremony organised by the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Sri Lanka.

CEO and Secretary General, Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Harin Malwatte
said, "At the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, we are indeed humbled by
winning the Gold award yet another year. We believe that this
achievement is an honour for good governance and transparency adopted in
the workings of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce."
"Being a business support organisation with a legacy that spans
almost 175 years, the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce continuously strives to
remain effective and relevant through changing times. This award stands
testimony to that," he said.
The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce won the Gold award in the same
category in 2012, 2011, 2009, 2008 and 2007 and the Silver Award in the
2006 and a Bronze Award in 2010.
CCC's Annual Report 2012-2013 was themed 'Progressive Action' as Sri
Lanka is gaining momentum to reach the economic targets the country has
set for itself in the short and the medium term.
"We are proud to have completed a year in which timely action was
consistently and consciously taken to contribute to a more conducive
business environment where entrepreneurship and business innovation
could prosper," Malwatte said.
"With our members and stakeholders we took timely initiatives in
influencing policy dialogue with the relevant authorities towards
setting up a sustainable economy.
"The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce hopes to continue this initiative
through the edification and empowerment for all strata of the business
world," he said. |
