Fruit plants distributed in Kalutara district

Ten thousand six hundred twelve (10,612) fruit plants have been distributed among primary schools in the Kalutara district under the Divi Neguma National Development Program.

The government has spent Rs. 1,846,443 on this fruit plant program and various vegetable plants and fruit plants, numbering 23,671, have also been given away, at a cost of Rs. 4,422,431 for home gardens in the Kalutara district. Besides, 7,639 coconut saplings among primary schools have also been distributed.

Seventy six thousand two hundred seed packets (76,200) 10,012 fruit plants and 5,000 'Miti Murunga' saplings have also been distributed in the Kalutara district, the sources said.
