Turkish delegation on twin-city program

Turkish delegation headed by the Gaziantep mayor Dr. Asim Guzelbey arrived in the island to launch the Gaziantep-Rambukkana twin city program.

Sabaragamuwa Chief Minister Maheepala Herath and Mayor Guzelbey had signed an accord last July for mutual corporation to promote Social, Economic and Cultural ties between the two countries. The Turkish delegation has identified the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and other tourist destinations in Kegalle district and the gem and jewellery industry in Ratnapura district as development priorities. The mutual relations between Sri Lanka and Turkey go back to over 106 years.
